hi folks, still alive and healthy

this post consists again from two parts..let say two short stories, yet there was no story during the music festival (2nd part)

there's an interesting day camp for kids here in Prievidza...quite unique on the whole world I dare to say. These children are learning about photography by the old fashioned way. Negative films, silvergelatin papers and the other darkroom stuff...no digital photo during the week

I got there a little too late (well, I couldn't get up in the morning, because.. you know... nightlife) so I have no photos of these children making photos etc..

drying the fresh printed photos

the instructor showing how to focus on films perforation, you can see something like a boys face in the dark (there's not much light in a darkroom)

while waiting to get to somekind of a Zoo. there's some food in his bag for rabbits, mice, rats and so on..

more from the waiting.. I felt kinda awkward with all these children around

I wonder if I was the same when I was a kid. He's holding some paper or something, can't really remember, but the point is he was beating other boy with it (one's hidden in the shadow)

later (or sooner?) a visit from local TV station. Report like this one, they took some video footage and notes and were done in an hour...

this is their work laying around. oh yeah, hand made prints are the best

some print examinations

here too, this time with a loupe, checking an index print

later that day (the last day) they had to hang their work outside. some sort of exhibition. for parents, TV and other guests

I'm a bad man, I actually enyojed watching them how the small kinds were not able to hang their photos just because the're not tall enough

shooting it was a whole different story

someone brought the negatives outside, for no reason I assume

and they were running around them like it was nothing.. almost killed me seeing how they nearly steped on them

quite not the same framing for these two shots, but I like the difference in these two. First without all the photos, just starting to hanging them

and the other one, very similliar, except here are all the photos and parents (I especialy like the "tree framing" I made here)

TV making a detail of the print... I might note that the print itself looks better

now to the other part of this post.

Musikeja music festival held in... well the name doesn't matter. A small village hidden in wood far away from any bigger town

the soundmasters place, nice coulds in back

here too, this is how you could see the sky that day..except the purple tint of the roof. I don't remember it beeing purple... yet the sunrays were neat

the Musikeja (personally I didn't like the painted logo, but do not tell anyone )

mr. Photographer enyojing the sound of music
note the highly ecological stage.. made of wood!

I wish I hadn't forgotten the name of this "band", really fine music, the kind for you would like to open a bottle of wine, but not listen to the classics

isn't this sweet, how she's feeding him. man, how I wish for a less distracting background

the egological stage (if you don't mind all the sound system), yet it looked very nice..

some drunk freaks dancing around (came there by foot all the 20km, for few hours of music they even didn't like)

need no comment... I know, it's too dark

looks nice how it came out. the contast of the bright blue light with gentle colors the guitar itsefl and the player too

while standing in total darkness I waited for the perfect moment when the light had passed over them.

some time later, quite bored of the bad light (bright blue, red and green, niiiice) I took some shots the Miro taking photos

fans trying to bring some romance (or something else?) to concert. Just the wind's not a friend with those lighters

reminds me of Nirvana. Not quite sure why... but the right moment is there. The light passing over his face.

some sound system. I like the place where it was, because all the wood around it. This is at night, with redish stage lights and some steam. Not much artistic nor a good moment, just wanted to capture something I liked there

bonus:

if you ever thought that autofocus and all that stuff is great you've clearly never been shooting at night. I mean at really dark place. When even the lightmeter doesn't measure (at least not accurately) and autofocus is going mad.
1/10 F1.8 something like iso 8000 handheld
only one shot of...many came out good
